About Us
Who?
Makepeace Consulting is primarily based on the skills and experience of Adam Makepeace, but drawing on a network of additional support built from 20 years of managing law firms. Adam has managed both the largest civil legal aid firm (Duncan Lewis) and the largest criminal legal aid firm (Tuckers) in the country over the last 12 years. Legal aid experience is obviously a core part of this CV - but there is no aspect of Adam's work that is not transferable to being able to provide legal consultancy in all sectors - given his skills have been honed in the cauldron of having to find ways to do more for less, in the face of declining fixed fees and other disruptions to scope and standards of work required by the Legal Aid Agency.

We approach each assignment with our sleeves rolled up, ready to get our hands dirty to help you implement your plans. We are not the kind of legal consultancy that specialises in providing vanilla templates and a reassuring voice. We come ready for hard work to help you get the job done.
Why?
In 2018, Adam won both the inaugural LAPG award for Practice Manager of the Year, as well as the award for Access to Justice through IT, based on the development of Tuckers' CaseRatio software. The combination of practical management experience, augmented with the ability to conceive of and apply solutions using IT to its fullest extent exemplify our approach.
